9th Grade: Freshmen

Dear Freshmen:

The counseling team is excited to help you begin your first steps toward a successful high school career, so that you are able to actively participate in school activities, take on leadership roles, and reach your academic goals. Successful students come to school on time, tend to work in study groups, and organize their time successfully to complete assignments. We encourage you to join clubs, sports, seek support for academics, and make the next four years memorable!

Students can visit their counselor during nutrition, lunch, after school, or by appointment for concerns that may need a longer period of time. E-mail is another resource tool to contact your counselor.

Important Freshman Information: By clicking on the links below, we have provided a Powerpoint of resources that will help you be successful in high school. We touch upon topics such as A-G requirements, what to expect or do for each grade, options after high school such as college, and academic resources and support offered at Hawthorne.

We are here to support you throughout your high school career working collaboratively to help each and everyone of you reach your true academic goals and aspirations.

Sincerely,

The Counseling Department
