Park, Alisha > Home

This is Ms. Park's 4th year teaching at Hawthorne.  She graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Classical Languages and History (to which her friends refer as Dead Languages and Dead People).  She also has a Master's in Education from UCLA, and now teaches all levels of English Language Development, which she loves.  Her own parents are immigrants to the US, and she knows very well the struggles of having to learn a new language, especially one as twisted and difficult as English (Who? Whom?  Shakespeare? WHAT?).
Ms. Park learned from her parents that education is important.  They taught her that high school and college are the best gatekeepers to a richer, fuller, deeper life, especially in the US.  This is the lesson that Ms. Park wants all her students to learn.  It doesn't matter who we were, where we come from, what language we speak, as long as we all continue to read, learn, and follow our dreams.
Reading and writing are passions for Ms. Park.  She hopes her students will also discover what it means to read and discover new worlds, and challenge their minds and beings.  Ms. Park also loves the Simpsons.
