Learning Outcomes

College and Career Ready

Academy students will develop and follow their postsecondary educational and career goals from targets established by both academic institutions and industry standards in their artistic career. Academy students will also periodically maintain and monitor their own progress toward achieving these goals.

Effective Communicators

Using written, oral, and 21st century technological methods, VAPA graduates will be able to use their artistic expression ability to convey their art form in multiple delivery formats.

Ethical Leaders

Using integrity and ethics, VAPA graduates will be able to describe their strengths and weaknesses and then use this knowledge to create educational and career goals on how to self-manage their own behavior.

Independent and Collaborative Critical Thinkers and Problem Solvers

Academy graduates will be able to identify and a valid research topic related to the Arts, Media, and Entertainment career fields and gather, analyze and interpret data and communicate their findings.

Socially Aware and Responsive Community Members

As productive citizens, academy students and graduates will participate in community-based performances, performance service projects, and art commissions in which they will participate in the improvement of the community and ethos of Southern California.
