Hello Cougar Family, 

It is a true honor to be the Principal of Hawthorne High School - home of the COURAGEOUS COUGARS where every cougar L.E.A.P.S.! I am deeply committed to the mission and vision of Hawthorne High where we provide a safe and rigorous learning environment so that every student will graduate academically competitive, self-reliant, and prepared for college, career, and life. As an instructional leader, I truly believe ALL students can learn and succeed with the many opportunities and wrap-around supports Hawthorne High has to offer. 

Professionally, I have seventeen years of experience in the field of education. Upon graduating from UCLA with a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics with a minor in Applied Linguistics / Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language and a Master's degree in Education, I started my teaching career at Leuzinger High School where I taught all levels of math ranging from Algebra to AP Calculus for ten years. While I was a classroom teacher, I also served in other leadership opportunities such as department chair, instructional coach, tennis coach, and WASC coordinator. I then became an Associate Principal for four years at Leuzinger High and two years at Hawthorne High. Personally, I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends, exploring good local eateries (which includes ice cream and boba, of course), and traveling around the world. I love the So Cal sunshine, but I truly enjoy the few days of rain we get each year!

I am proud to be part of the Cougar Family, and it is a privilege to lead Hawthorne in its legacy of success by building strong relationships with students, staff, and the community. Please reach out at any time as my doors are always open!

Es un verdadero honor ser el director de Hawthorne High School, hogar de los COURAGEOUS COUGARS donde todos los Cougars L.E.A.P.S.! Estoy profundamente comprometida con la misión y visión de Hawthorne High, donde brindamos un entorno de aprendizaje seguro y riguroso para que todos los estudiantes se gradúen académicamente competitivos, autosuficientes y preparados para la universidad, la carrera y la vida. Como líder instructivo, realmente creo que TODOS los estudiantes pueden aprender y tener éxito con las muchas oportunidades y apoyos integrales que Hawthorne High tiene para ofrecer.

Profesionalmente, tengo diecisiete años de experiencia en el campo de la educación. Al graduarme de UCLA con una licenciatura en Matemáticas Aplicadas con una especialización en Lingüística Aplicada / Enseñanza de inglés como segunda lengua o lengua extranjera y una maestría en educación, comencé mi carrera docente en Leuzinger High School, donde enseñé todos los niveles de matemáticas que van desde Álgebra hasta Cálculo AP durante diez años. Mientras era maestra de salón, también trabajé en otras oportunidades de liderazgo como jefa de departamento, entrenadora de instrucción, entrenadora de tenis y coordinadora de WASC. Luego me convertí en Directora Asociada durante cuatro años en Leuzinger High y dos años en Hawthorne High. Personalmente, disfruto pasar tiempo de calidad con familiares y amigos, explorar buenos restaurantes locales (que incluyen helados y boba, por supuesto) y viajar por el mundo. Me encanta el sol de So Cal, ¡pero realmente disfruto de los pocos días de lluvia que tenemos cada año!

Me enorgullece ser parte de la familia Cougar y es un privilegio liderar a Hawthorne en su legado de éxito mediante la construcción de relaciones sólidas con los estudiantes, el personal y la comunidad. ¡Comuníquese en cualquier momento ya que mis puertas siempre están abiertas!
