Quickwrite – Monkey’s Paw II 8/28/14
Now that you have finished reading “Monkey’s Paw” let’s look and reread our first quickwrite and what we learned about themes and talismans on Monday. Answer the following questions based on this information:
What is the author’s main theme in “Monkey’s Paw”? What does the author believe about destiny vs free will?
Remember that humans put a lot of trust in amulets and talismans. Do you think the Monkey’s Paw actually made all the events happen, or was it coincidence? Why do you think this?
Finally, did this story change how you think about destiny vs. free will? Why or why not.
Be prepared to share!

Here is the questions
On 8/26 we read ch 1 and 2 of monkey's paw. It is available online through your powerschool account if you want to read it again. We also filled out parts of the plot chart and vocabulary chart. We answer questions for the text for each chapter. Attached is the plot chart, and in the next few I will add the other two charts
