Message from the Principal: "If you see something, say something"

Dear Hawthorne Families,
As many of you know students across the country are planning to participate in actions to support school safety on March 14th. Your student’s safety is our first priority; so we will have an optional activity planned for in our quad at 10am for students who would like to participate in acknowledging the tragedy in Florida one month ago. Students may attend without penalty and will be supervised at all times. They will be out of class for a short time past the end of break but will not leave our campus.
In conjunction with this activity, we continuing to focus on campus safety. This Monday our district Director of Security conducted a training for our entire staff, on Tuesday students will have a classroom safety presentation, and on Friday we will run a lock down drill during 2nd period.
We appreciate your support as we continue to work to maintain a safe environment. Remind your student “If you see something, say something.” Report anyone who is making threats or seems to be engaging in harmful behaviors, this includes posts on social media. Please make sure we have your current contact information at the school for emergencies. Also be aware that we have counseling and support service available on our campus for student in need of support.
